Apple in 2023: Rumored Products Expected to Come Out

Apple Inc. has been known to be notoriously secretive in its product releases, and it’s not hard to see why as it’s valued at a trillion-dollar growth. However, the recent launch of the yellow iPhone 14, the revert of HomePod, and the refresh of its Mac lineup with an M2 Mac mini and M2 MacBook Pro make the fans wonder what else is on its pipeline for the year 2023. Good thing NeedThat is here because we happen to hear which products from the tech giant are rumored to come out this year.

1. Apple iPhone 15 lineup

Apple may be tight-lipped about its new launches and breakthroughs, but what we’re most certain of is that its iPhone flagships drop like clockwork, which is usually out in the fall during the September event. There are three significant changes we’re expecting to see this year: (1) the iPhone 15 lineup will switch from the Lightning charging port to USB-C, (2) the iPhone 15 will have a bigger 6.2-inch display over other versions, and (3) the Pro models will include a faster A17 chip built on a 3-nanometer node, whereas the biggest version could feature periscope lens technology for 6x optical zoom capabilities.

The switch to USB-C is due to Europe’s new regulations mandate that all tech goods sold in the continent must support USB-C by 2024. What’s vague here is whether the company would manufacture a model specifically for Europe or if it will fully adopt USB-C throughout the entire iPhone 15 lineup. Let’s all find out in September.

2. iPhone 15 Ultra

Speaking of iPhone 15, it’s rumored that the lineup will involve a brand new iPhone 15 Ultra, with several sources debating whether it may or may not be the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Either way, this Ultra model is believed to be designed with a titanium body instead of stainless steel, making it more lightweight and durable as opposed to preceding lineups. As usual, this quality upgrade would also mean a higher starting price. Perhaps, a roundabout over $1,000.

3. Apple Mixed Reality headset

It’s been quite a while since we last heard about Apple’s upcoming mixed-reality headset. However, the community is excited as Bloomberg recently reported that it might finally debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2023. If all goes well, it’s considered a major leap for Apple as it indicates its ready expansion into a new product since the Apple Watch.

Apple’s mixed-reality headset is anticipated to combine aspects of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality(AR), such as enveloping users in 360-degree graphics like the Meta Quest 2 and overlaying digital graphics over real-world environments like the smartphone game Pokemon Go, respectively.

4. Apple Watch Series 9

Alongside iPhones, the Apple Watch is another product that is on Apple’s annual release cycle calendar. This year, Bloomberg reported that the Apple Watch Series 9 won’t have any significant changes, but rather a few performance enhancements and health-tracking features. One of our wishlists for the upcoming model is the addition of the noninvasive blood glucose monitoring technology, which was also shared by Bloomberg in a similar report. The media company stated that Apple engineers reached “major milestones” in devising a functioning proof of concept to determine the user’s blood glucose level. So, we’re optimistic.
