Pomeloflavor Joins Sanzo’s Asian-inspired, Citrus-Based Sparkling Water Line

First-ever Asian-inspired sparkling water brand, Sanzo, caps off the first quarter of 2023 zesty and bubbly with its newest refreshment offering: Pomelo flavor. It’s the sixth fruit-forward and the third citrus-based sparkling water, overall joining the brand’s current lineup of Lychee, Calamansi, Yuzu, Mango, and Asian Pear.

Citrus-Based Sparkling Water Line

Born in 2018, Sanzo is a healthy drinks startup ideated and founded by Queens-born Filipino American entrepreneur Sandro Roco. Its strong cause of “[bridging] cultures by connecting people to authentic flavors” is supported by delivering Asian flavors to the booming U.S. sparkling water market, using only real fruits and no added sugar or preservatives for a refreshing taste. It has every good stuff you can find in a can: gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, and shelf stable.

Like the brand’s fierce conviction, the new Pomelo flavor is introduced to create a variety in mainstream American groceries. Pomelo fruits are native to Southeast Asia and commonly consumed for their excellent antioxidant and immune system benefits, like Vitamin C that can last many days and high levels of copper, fiber, and potassium. While their taste may seem totally foreign to you, they share a counterpart relationship with grapefruits. The latter is a descendant of a hybrid mixture of pomelo and an orange.

With Kerry Group reporting grapefruits as among the most popular sparkling water flavors for the past five years, pomelos are definitely the next big thing in fruity cocktail mixes and spring picnics due to their larger size, sweeter taste yet milder tartness complementary flavors. A challenge though is that these fruits are notoriously difficult to slice open when ripe, but Sanzo’s breakthrough of Pomelo sparkling water is perfect every time.
