Apple has announced the new Apple Watch 6. They decided to continue with a similar design to its previous widely successful models. The new Apple Watch 6 will have a more vibrant “always-on” display. In addition, it will also feature an oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring system.
SpO2 Monitoring System
Probably the most distinct update added to the new Apple Watch 6 would be the SpO2 monitoring system that Apple has implemented. Measured by blood oxygen sensors, the watch is able to determine your oxygen saturation levels.
Apple is not a pioneer by any means with the addition of this system. Others such as the Samsung Galaxy 3 have added it to their smart watch features. Nonetheless, it is an important feature for such a widely popular smart watch that many are wearing nowadays.
The SpO2 monitoring system will notify users if their blood oxygen levels fall below an unhealthy concentration. Typically a healthy concentration is considered to be 95%-100%. This feature can be life-saving as there are potential underlying health issues that can occur as a result of abnormally low blood oxygen levels.
Price
The Apple Watch 6 will be sold at a price point of $399 for it’s GPS-only variation. If you want the GPS and cellular model, it will open at a price point of $499. In addition, the larger 44mm variation will be available for $429.
It’s pre-order is available now. Shipping is set to begin on September 18th 2020.
Colorways
The Apple Watch 6 shares the same square-ish and circle-ish design. You will still be hard-pressed to find another smartwatch on the market that sits as comfortably atop your wrist as the Apple Watch. The watch will be available in several different colors such as; gray, silver, gold, blue, and red colorways.
Battery Life
Unfortunately, there has been no upgrade to the battery life of the Apple Watch 6 from the Apple Watch 5. Which should not be an issue if you have become accustomed to charging your watch nightly. But even if not, no need to fret. The Apple Watch 6 has a full charge time of 90 minutes
In conclusion, TLDR
The Apple Watch 6 will share a similar look to its predecessors but is definitely an upgrade. It features a brand new blood oxygen monitoring system and an upgraded screen display. The Apple Watch 6 will be sold in several different colors such as; gray, silver, gold, blue, and red colorways. It is available for pre-order now and shipping is set to begin this coming September 18th.
